Curriculum Development and Medical Education Skills

Interested residents will have the opportunity to cultivate their curriculum development and medical education skills aided by resident and faculty-led lectures and a capstone project.

Residents will utilize and present on topics derived from the Curriculum Development for Medical Education: A Six-Step Approach throughout this track (free through Ebling Library Website). Additional resources or related subjects may be incorporated into the presentations.

Faculty (Neurology or Psychiatry volunteers) will present on topics related to teaching and learning (preferably in a discussion-based format). Example topics include:

  • How to make teaching sessions interactive
  • Team-based learning
  • Improving learning and memory retention
  • Dealing with the difficult learner
  • Setting up your presentation for success
  • Research methods
  • Diversity and inclusion
  • Education theory
  • Workshops on communication and feedback
  • Educational Psychology
