Alzheimer’s Faculty Position

The Department of Neurology and the Wisconsin Alzheimer’s Institute at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health seek a neurologist or neuropsychologist specializing in Alzheimer’s diseases for an Assistant, Associate or Full Professor, tenure-track or CHS position.  This position will collaborate with in a multi-departmental program which includes faculty in neurology, neuropsychology, geriatrics, the Wisconsin Alzheimer’s Institute and the Alzheimer’s disease Research Center.  An M.D., MD/PhD, or DO degree, Board certification or eligibility in neurology, a Wisconsin medical license or the ability to obtain a Wisconsin Medical License, and Alzheimer’s disease fellowship training or equivalent experience is required for neurologist candidates.  A PhD or PsyD degree, ABCN/ABPP Board certification or eligibility in clinical neuropsychology, Wisconsin licensure or have the ability to obtain a Wisconsin al License, APA accredited neuropsychology or clinical neuropsychology fellowship training or equivalent experience is required for neuropsychologist candidates. Interesetd in diverse candidates involved in disparaties research.

Clinical activities will involve attending duties in outpatient Alzheimer’s clinics at the UW Health clinics, Veterans Memorial Hospital and other locations and on inpatient services at the University of Wisconsin and the VA.  Research responsibilities include developing an independent, extramurally funded research program with patient-based activities integrated into the clinical activities and pursue extramural funding for research–a focus on health disparities or outcomes research is highly desirable.  Teaching responsibilities include teaching medical student courses and clerkship, mentoring graduate students and trainees, training residents, fellows and medical students and teaching continuing education programs for physicians, neuropsychologists and the public.
