Welcome!
We appreciate your interest in the field of epilepsy. The purpose of this fellowship is to train you to be able to provide comprehensive care to patients with epilepsy. Central to the appropriate management of epilepsy is accurate diagnosis, establishing etiology, and localization. You will learn treatments for epilepsy including medications, dietary therapy, neuro-stimulation, and epilepsy surgery as well as learn to manage comorbid conditions and medication side-effects. In addition to clinical skills, you will develop skills in interpretation of both scalp and invasive monitoring EEG studies, learn comprehensive pre-surgical work-ups including advanced imaging studies (PET, SPECT, FMRI), neuropsychological testing, and learn about other advanced modalities and their applications. We encourage and have resources available for scholarly activity ranging from quality improvement projects to basic science research. Our faculty includes several experts in the field with varied interests, who help create a warm learning environment. Fellows also have several opportunities to be involved in education.
Completion of training will make the trainee eligible for American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology board certification in epilepsy.
