Adult Epilepsy
During the year, each fellow will be expected to take one weeknight call per week (4pm to 8am) and one weekend call per month (4pm Friday to 8am Saturday). During the evening call, the fellow is responsible for reviewing EEGs in real-time and communicating findings with treating teams as well as directing the EEG technologist regarding new EEGs. Fellow will be responsible for both adult EEGs from UW and Meriter Hospital. During the call, there is always a back-up epilepsy faculty to aid the fellow regarding EEG interpretation or if the service is overwhelming. The fellow is expected to stay within 60 minutes of the hospital during their time on call and be able to review EEGs remotely via UW Citrix within 5 minutes.
Changes to call schedule should be minimized to avoid disruption of service coverage. The fellow is responsible for making up the call day within a timely manner.
Fellows are also expected to work 2 major and 2 minor holidays over the course of their training. This shift starts at 8am the morning of the holiday and goes through 8am the next day. Just as overnight call, this holiday shift can be worked from home.
The fellow will not cover holidays that land on a Saturday or Sunday.
