  1. Instill habits of professionalism and lifelong learning
  1. Prepare fellows for clinical or academic careers per their own preferences
  1. Develop a pipeline of neurologists for UW and the state of Wisconsin
  1. Maintain a healthy and diverse intellectual culture

VALUES STATEMENT

Faculty and fellows will strive to provide the highest quality of care to every patient. It is our unwavering view that the patient comes first, and must be offered with the compassion and professionalism that we would expect for our families and ourselves.

Our program emphasizes a team approach, with close interaction among attending physicians, fellows, residents, and other health care professionals. We highly value our culture of safety, wherein anyone can feel free to ask questions, make suggestions, or raise concerns without fear of reprisal.

We are committed to fostering a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion within our neurology department. We believe that such a culture leads to broader perspectives that create positive changes in the way we think, behave, and deliver care. We therefore work to recruit and develop well-rounded and diverse residency cohorts that allow us to grow and learn from each other as we pursue our clinical, teaching, and research missions.
