Introduction
The fellow will provide day neuromuscular call coverage.
Goals
The goals of day call is to gain experience with inpatient neuromuscular medicine care.
- To gain experience and expertise in inpatient neuromuscular disorders such as Guillain-Barre Syndrome, myasthenic crisis, etc
- To gain experience in inpatient NCS and EMG studies
Objectives
- The fellow will provide consultation with attending supervision to general neurology patients with advanced/complex neuromuscular disorders.
- Consults should be restricted to complex neuromuscular cases (i.e. not every inpatient EMG should be accompanied by a formal consult)
- Consults can be called during regular business hours (8AM-4PM) and may be deferred to the following day depending on the timing/availability of neuromuscular staff. There are no formal consults on holiday’s/weekends however attendings are available for informal consultation.
- Consultation is unavailable if the fellow is on vacation, ill, or attending a conference.
