Medical Interests

Skillful, and compassionate care, of patients with stroke, and other cerebrovascular diseases, with a specific interest in understanding stroke etiology and pathophysiology and secondary interest in stroke prevention.

Research Interests

Understanding the molecular basis of the role of inflammatory cues in repair and recovery after stroke with the goal of developing novel pharmacotherapies to lessen the burden of stroke and its associated disabilities.

Teaching Interests

Mentoring residents interested in a career in academic neurology and clinical or bench research neurology. Teaching medical students, and residents, both in didactic and bedside modes of instruction.
