Interests
Medical
I have a strong interest in advanced epilepsy care, including the surgical treatment of intractable epilepsy, as well as the comprehensive care of complex patients, addressing both the seizure and non-seizure related aspects of their health. I seek to integrate my clinical practice with collaborative research efforts.
Research
My basic science research was in the field of electrophysiology, understanding single-cell and microcircuit function in a mouse model of Fragile X Syndrome. My current research focus is on non-invasive neurophysiology techniques and their value in improving epilepsy surgery outcomes and patient selection. Additionally, I would like to continue my involvement in multicenter research consortia in the field of single-gene causes of developmental and epileptic encephalopathies.
Teaching
I love teaching the neurological clinical exam and the neurologist’s approach to patient examination; EEG findings and interpretation framework; and of course seizure care, seizure and epilepsy description, and advanced epilepsy care. On the non-medical side, I have an interest in teaching physician-specific personal finance.
